Does attorney- client privilege survive a client’s death?  Hanoch Sheps, Katie O’Leary, Vincent Syracuse and Jean-Claude Mazzola authored this piece for the Attorney Professionalism Forum, published by the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), in which they discuss rules and exceptions for disclosure after a client’s death. Maintaining the sanctity of the attorney-client relationship is paramount for the effective practice of law but this article demonstrates that the finality of death still raises ethical and professional dilemmas.
